Question

How do you migrate an instance of NAKIVO Backup & Replication to an updated Ubuntu 20.04 virtual appliance?

Answer

In order to migrate an existing NAKIVO Backup & Replication instance to a newer version virtual appliance, do the following:

  1. Export your current configuration of NAKIVO Backup & Replication.

  2. Deploy a new VMware or Nutanix AHV virtual appliance.

  3. Import the configuration from step 1 to the installation on the new virtual appliance.

Note
Backup Repositories are not migrated when importing/exporting system configuration. If you have a local Backup Repository on the old instance of the product, you may want to move it to the new location. After moving the Backup Repository, you may need to edit Backup Repository settings in the new instance such that the settings refer to the actual Backup Repository location.
