Last modified: 6 July 2026

Problem

Adding physical machine to the inventory of NAKIVO Backup & Replication fails.

Solution

To make sure the physical machine is added correctly to the Inventory, try the following:

  • Ensure the SE linux is disabled on the Linux-based machines.

  • Ensure WMIC is installed on the Windows-based machines.

  • Ensure the physical machine has sufficient available disk space for the Transporter/Physical agent installation. See Physical Machine Requirements.

  • Enable ICMP Ping.

  • Adjust or disable thefirewall during the process. Refer to Networking Requirements.

  • Enable system.physical.skip.os.checking Expert setting (Use at your own risk). Refer to Expert Mode.

  • Alternatively, try to install a Transporter with a master password manually on the physical machine, and add the physical machine to the Inventory. Refer to Adding Physical Machines.

Problem

NAKIVO Backup & Replication fails to add physical machines to the inventory with the following error:

An internal error has occurred. Reason: The folder "/opt/nakivo/transporter" already exists and does not contain a valid Transporter installation. Delete this folder and try adding the physical machine again. (PackageDeploymentServiceException).

Solution

To solve this issue, delete the folder and try adding the machine to the inventory again.
