Transporter Internal Error

Problem

A VM backup job has failed with the following error:

error16 - description='Internal error has occurred on the transporter.

reason=NONE ("Transporter internal error (ActionException)")'

Solution

To resolve the issue, follow these steps:

  1. Check network connectivity and firewall settings.

    • Ensure the ICMP Traffic is allowed. Run the following command. It should successfully return responses if the Transporter is reachable.

      ping <IP_of_transporter>

    • Verify that the following ports are open and accessible:

      • 9446

      • 9448–10000

    • Ensure the antivirus, security software, or Windows Defender is not blocking the NAKIVO Transporter service (bhsvc).

  2. Сheck the performance (CPU/RAM) on the source host. See Checking Transporter Performance.

  1. Restart the Transporter service. Retry the backup job after restarting the Transporter.

  1. Ensure that the latest updates for NAKIVO Backup & Replication are installed.

  2. If the issue persists, please create a Support Bundle and contact the support team for further investigation.
