Problem

The option for recovering files or objects from a FreeNAS disk by downloading and sending them via email does not work on the following pages of the NAKIVO Backup & Replication user interface:

Background

The Transporter component of the NAKIVO Backup & Replication installation on FreeNAS is implemented as a FreeBSD jail. It means that this Transporter is isolated from the FreeNAS operating system and any other jails running on that system. Therefore, there is no way to mount the disk to be restored to the FreeNAS operating system where the Transporter is installed.

Solution

To enable the option for recovering files or objects by downloading and sending them via email in the cases mentioned above, specify a proxy Transporter. Refer to the corresponding topic for details:

Such proxy Transporter should be installed on a separate virtual or physical host.
