Error Messages Displayed in Wrong Language
Product version: 11.2
Last modified: 14 July 2026
Problem
After the interface language of NAKIVO Backup & Replication is changed, alerts and error dialogs are displayed in a language that differs from the selected one.
Background
This behavior is by design and can be caused by one of the following reasons:
-
NAKIVO Backup & Replication generates and stores the alert text at the moment the corresponding error occurs, in the interface language active at that time. When you switch the interface language later, the product does not translate the alerts that have already been generated. Live interface elements, such as the Close button, are rendered in the currently selected language. This is why a single error dialog can contain two languages.
-
Parts of an error message that are returned by third-party components are displayed as received and can remain in English regardless of the selected interface language.
Example: the VMware vSphere fault string "Current license or ESXi version prohibits execution of the requested operation."
Solution
Do the following:
-
Select the preferred interface language before starting an operation, and do not change it while the operation is running.
-
To view an existing alert in the currently selected interface language, retry the failed operation. The new alert is generated in the currently selected language.
