Troubleshooting Transporter Read/Write Issues

Problem

The Transporter cannot read from or write to the Backup Repository, causing backup and recovery jobs to fail.

Background

Read/write failures can occur due to insufficient permissions, storage connectivity issues, or file system errors. Identifying the root cause is essential to restoring normal operation.

Solution

Follow these steps to diagnose and resolve the Transporter read/write issues:

  1. Ensure that the Transporter can access the Backup Repository.

  2. Check that the Backup Repository has required read/write permissions.

  3. Restart the Transporter service.

  4. Ensure the Backup Repository has enough free space. Free up space or expand the storage volume if the repository is full.

  5. Detach and re-attach the Backup Repository. See Managing Backup Repositories for details.

  6. Create a Support Bundle, including the logs and other details.
