Product version: 11.0
Last modified: 20 March 2025
Problem
The backup job failed with the following error message:
error16 - description='Internal error has occurred on the transporter.
FAILED (Transporter memory allocation error (ActionException)'
Background
This error occurs when the Transporter encounters a memory allocation issue. The failure may result from:
-
Insufficient memory allocated to the Transporter service.
-
Excessive memory consumption by other processes on the system running the Transporter.
-
Running an outdated version of the Transporter.
Solution
To work around the problem, consider one of the following solutions:
-
Ensure the Transporter VM is not overloading (CPU, RAM, network connectivity). Consider balancing the workload or allocating additional resources.
-
Increase the memory allocation for the Transporter VM or decrease its Maximum load value. For more details, refer to Editing Nodes.
-
Stop all Job/Activity/Repository maintenance tasks then restart the Transporter service to clear any temporary memory allocation issues.
-
Ensure that the latest updates for NAKIVO Backup & Replication are installed.
