Limitation on the Chain of Incremental Recovery Points

Limitation

The following recovery options are disabled for the backup chain that has incremental recovery points exceeding the limit of 256:

• Granular recovery for individual files

• Object recovery for Microsoft Exchange

• Object recovery for Microsoft SQL Server

• Object recovery for Microsoft Active Directory

• Universal object recovery

• Flash VM boot for VMware/Hyper-V.

Background

If a backup chain of incremental recovery points exceeds 256, the recovery points in the chain are not supported for File and/or Object, Universal Object, and Flash boot recovery jobs.

This limitation applies to both Incremental with full and Forever incremental data storage types.
