Question

Moving a cartridge to a mail slot on Amazon VTL makes it disappear from the Tapes view in NAKIVO Backup & Replication after the VTL is refreshed. Is it possible to retrieve the tape cartridge?

 

Answer

Moving a cartridge to a mail slot on Amazon VTL does make the cartridge disappear from the Tapes view while making it Archived in Amazon (you cannot see the cartridge in mtx output).

The tape cartridge can be moved back but it obtains the Retrieved status and becomes read-only.
