Product version: 10.2
Last modified: 29 March 2024
Problem
When adding a Windows-configured NFS share to the Inventory, the job fails with the following error:
nfs: Cannot add the file share
The “nfs” file share location ([file share location]) cannot be reached by the <[transporter]> transporter. Make sure the location is reachable.
Background
The cause of this problem can be related to the Transporter service (bhsvc, bh
) running under a local system account without permission to access shared resources (NFS) in the Windows Server.
Solution
To resolve this issue, you can select one of the two options:
-
Join the machine with the Transporter assigned to the NFS share you want to add to the Inventory to the domain and then add the NFS share.
-
Configure the machine with the NFS share you want to add to the Inventory as described below:
-
Press Windows + R, type
secpol.msc
, and then press ENTER. -
Open Local Policies > Security Options.
-
Set the Netlogon value to Network access: Shares that can be accessed anonymously.
-
Click Apply.
-
Connect the NFS share from the Director to the server.
