Problem

A detached backup repository cannot be reattached, preventing access to backup data. This issue may disrupt backup and recovery operations. The attachment process starts but fails silently or reverts to a detached status.

Background

Repositories cannot be reattached due to various factors, such as:

• Network Issues

• Repository Problems

• File System Errors

• Read / Write Permission Issues

• Configuration Errors

Solution

To resolve the issue, try the following steps.

1. Verify Repository Configuration. Ensure the correct path and repository type are configured during the attachment process.

2. Verify that appropriate Read/Write permissions are granted if the repository was migrated or modified.

3. Check the network connection if you have CIFS/NFS/iSCSI repositories. Test ping and file share access to remote repositories from the machine running the Transporter service.
