Director Machine Failure

Problem

The machine on which the Director is installed has failed/become unavailable. The web user interface is inaccessible.

Solution

  1. Install a new instance of NAKIVO Backup & Replication.

  2. Add your virtual infrastructure to the inventory.

  3. If you have additional Transporters, add them to the new installation as described in Adding Installed Transporters.

  4. Import the Backup Repositories to the new installation.

  5. Re-create backup and replication jobs and use existing VM backups and replicas as a target to avoid full backup/replication.
